Although Caveman Robot is one of a kind, the universe keeps folding upon itself. There is a circular movement of absolutely identical series of combinations, each series recurring infinitely often in the past and the future. As Robert Smithson said, the Caveman will shake hands with the Spaceman. When I find something that could be Caveman Robot, or just reminds me of our Hero, I try to digitally collect it, and finally have gotten around to posting them here. If you find something that could be mistaken for Caveman Robot, please send it our way. - Thanks Jason Robert Bell.

Zombie Jesus vs. Caveman Robot
We made "Fiends" with Zombie Jesus (Ira Hunter) at the 2004 San Diego Comiccon. He asked permission to use Caveman Robot for a very short film. They went ahead and made there own un-official Caveman Robot suit and everything.

Mechanical Caveman
I found this item on Ebay, the product of way too much ego-surfing on google, it was listed as "Yonezawa Caveman Robot Japan Tin Wind-Up Toy." would have bid on it, but that would mean the bird-footed bitch goddess of Money!

Amazing Stories-

The Machine Man of Ardathia (Francis Flagg), November, 1927.

Cover artist Frank R.Paul, an arresting image of a metal warrior grappling with the king of the beast. I have not read this story, so I don't know it this figure is an actual automation or a human being in a suit of advanced armor. However this image certainly could be our hero, Caveman Robot.

Submitted by Phil Williams.

Trash Can Graffiti
Joe Infurnari pointed this image of Caveman Robot out to me, when I was dropping off a rented Car, at National Car Rental on 12th street and University, in NYC. Both Joe and I took it as a omen of good tidings, and felt that some sort of external power was giving us the big thumbs up.

Since then it has become a makeshift shrine, with people coming from all over the world to pay homage to Caveman Robot, there are a number of reports of miraculous healing, broken watches repairing themselves, and all the rental cars near by getting better mileage.

Vintage Caveman Computer Game
I found this item, on a Web site devoted to vintage Computers. Apparently "Jr. Caveman" battles "Dinosaur(s)". The idea that all our new technology will one day be like thousand year old pottery in a museum is matching to the sprit of Caveman Robot.

Otomox-

Writer: André Mavimus Artist: Roger Roux

From a French comic book, Otomox is a powerful robot and the self-proclaimed "Master of Robots." He is a creation of the evil Doctor Minuscus, a mad scientist who wants to conquer the world with armies of robots and his "Green Lightning." The villains are thwarted by engineer Lamballe, his niece Josette, and nephew Marc. They used the "Rainbow Wave" designed by Lamballe to destroy the villain and his underground lair.

Project Grizzly
Troy Hurtubise is the oddly interesting man he is today because he was attacked by a grizzly bear in 1984. Out of that came his life's dream--to build a suit of armor that would allow him to go one-on-one with a grizzly. A 1997 documentary gives you the whole story. The most compelling footage (and ripe for repeated viewing) in Project Grizzly is the crash testing of the 145-pound suit of titanium armor, chain mail, rubber, and interior air bags. Hurtubise, resembling a robotic Terminator, is thrown off cliffs, rammed by logs, hit by a pickup truck, and clubbed with baseball bats. Although when he actually gets to the Bears nothing really happens.

Patrick Phipps

I found this image on a strangers's web site, I have been unable to find the site again. As far as I can tell, Mr. Phipps is doing the 1970's dance "the Robot" and the adjective "Caveman" is used to describe his dancing style.

I wish I could find the site again, it was all the artwork and ideas of Mr. Phipps' friend, who took the picture. The odd thing was that I felt like I was looking at some alternative version of myself.

Update! 2004- got this email from Mr. Phipps - hi cavey,
while i was ego-surfing on Google, i came across your Caveman Robot
Apocrypha page with a picture of me dancing the robot. i know which site
you were surfing and why the picture was captioned "Caveman Robot." the
site in question is my friend Scott's site, http://www.glorypoison.com/. Scott
likes to paint and draw robots and I like to draw them. My website is
http://www.patrickphipps.com/. Scott may have been referring to my
ownership of a Caveman Robot hand-painted figurine that I purchased at
Quimby's Comics in Wicker Park, Chi-town. That same day, I also
purchased a copy of the Caveman Robot comic. I wish I could have bought
the beautiful display you made for the comics and figures. it was truly
inspired.
my wife and i have a "wall of fame/wall fo shame" at home of things with
interesting and creative packaging. Caveman robot takes center stage
there (although we've had to put him in storage until our daughter
recognizes the difference between our toys and hers). thanks for
entertaining us and i hope you enjoy Scott's work. he's all 'bout the 'bots.

The Phantom Empire

1935 12 Chapters
Legend has it that the story for The Phantom Empire was dreamed up by the producer while sitting in a dentist's chair and experiencing the effects of nitrous oxide gas. Believe it--the story's original, all right, and it influenced many other films to come, from Flash Gordon to the Star Wars films, for which it provided two title inspirations. I watched episodes on Sundays, in Houston's channel 20. This film had it all Cowboys, Lost Civilations, Mad Scientist, and this"Caveman-ish" robot guardian, had me duct taping cardboard boxes together that same day to remake him. The great Gene Autry stars as himself, in this classic Bad film.

Kory Smith

Our good friend, and sometime wearer of the official Caveman Robot suit, here is preparing for the shape of things to come. His father made this suit for Halloween, and Kory was nice enough to let me scan it.

Frankenstein Jr.
One of my favortive cartoons!
Frankenstein Jr. was built by Dr. Conroy. Frankie is a 30 foot mechanic robot that defeats crime. His is summoned by Dr. Conroy's' son named Buzz, who has a ring that calls out to Frankenstein Jr. whenever Buzz needs him. Frankenstein Jr., was not, as the name implied, a close relative of Mary Shelley's famous creation. In fact he wasn't even an organic monster, assembled from human parts, but a mechanical one, assembled from transistors, diodes and the like — which made him more closely related to Gigantor, a Japanese cartoon that had debuted in the U.S. in that same year. The Late Great Ted Cassidy as Frankenstein Jr.'s voice, Cassidy played Lurch on the Addams Family and Bigfoot on the Six Million Dollar Man. Originally Released in 1966 on CBS. Hanna-Barbera Studios.

Caveman Robot is awarded American citizenship 1972 by President Nixon.
